About Us

The K Palace Theater ~ Home of Theater on the Move

Theater on the Move was officially established May of 2014 as an LLC.  The owner is Tommy Kelley with advisory board members, Dale and Beverly O’Shaughnessy and Barry and Tess Nelson.  We have been involved with theater productions at Murr Community Center on post, dinner theater at both the Windemere Hotel and Conference Center and Knights of Columbus.  We have done shows in Bisbee, Tombstone, the Mall and for three years we performed at Village Meadows Baptist Church.  We truly were theater nomads!

We bought the building in Huachuca City on June 30, 2021 and we named it The K Palace Theater.   We are excited to be able to provide a variety of theater opportunities in the form of traditional plays, murder mysteries, musicals and original plays written by Theater on the Move.  We have traditionally been performing three shows per year, but with our new venue, we plan on performing five shows per year with one of the shows being an all Childrens production.  We write most of the shows that we perform, but we have and will perform shows from existing scripts.  We have a production schedule that takes us out through the year 2031.

The K Palace Theater is a 5400 square foot facility with a dedicated seating area of approximately 1900 square feet.  We can seat over 100 folks comfortably.  It has a very large stage with pretty sophisticated audio-visual equipment to support our shows and other events.  We have elegant and spacious restrooms.  We have our series 7 (beer & wine) license and look forward to offering select beers and wines before and during the show.

The K Palace Theater has a very creative team for producing and performing our shows.  We have been doing this since 2014, and we have developed shows for our stage that are unique in their design, plots, special effects, sound effects and musical scores.  Most of our shows are comedies with audience interaction because we feel audiences want to laugh and be a part of the entertainment.  Our Tech Team is amazingly talented in the areas of sound, music, music editing, sound effects, special effects, video and slide production and editing.
